Rouge Précaire est une série photographique témoignant la fragilité de l’Homme vis-à-vis l’environnement. Cet écosystème que l’Homme ne contrôle plus, qu’il n’a jamais contrôlé. Même si, à un moment, il s’en est malencontreusement convaincu.
Philippe Blondel a posé son regard contemporain et plein de poésie sur ce sujet en opposant l’environnement hostile qu’est une décharge à la génération nouvelle du Burkina Faso. Cette jeune génération perdue, dont le photographe fait partie et s’identifie, devra faire outre les différences qui les divisent pour faire face à l’immense responsabilité de trouver une alternative commune afin de préserver la planète pour les générations futures.
Pour y parvenir, Philippe a fait appel à son ami et collègue photographe Jacques Sibiri Ouedraogo. Photographe burkinabé, ils se sont rencontrés en 2021, lors du premier voyage de Philippe au Burkina. L’idée originale du projet a été proposée par Jacques, s’interrogeant comment abordé le thème de l’environnement de manière différente. Philippe a utilisé le travail photographique réalisé par Jacques et lui-même sur le terrain pour en construire des œuvres originales.
L’objectif n’est pas de culpabiliser mais plutôt d’apporter un regard nouveau sur la problématique. Questionnant les actions collectives, individuelles en rapport à la gestion des déchets et les rôles des gouvernements, les deux artistes photographes veulent aller encore plus loin et espèrent voir la jeunesse réalisée par elle-même l’urgence d’agir.
“En arrivant à Ouagadougou pour la première fois, j’ai été choqué de voir autant de déchets à même la rue. D’autant plus, que l’âge moyen de la population est très jeune. Il est temps d’agir avant qu’il ne soit trop tard.” constate Philippe. Il partage, par ailleurs, ses inquiétudes avec Jacques et décident d’agir en utilisant l’art. Cette réalité est vraie pour l’Afrique tout entière, une partie de l’Asie et de l’Amérique du Sud. Elle est encore plus vrai pour toutes les jeunes générations peu importe soit-t- elles. La problématique environnementale n’est pas propre au Burkina Faso, elle est généralisée et nous concerne tous.

Rouge Précaire is a photographic series testifying to the fragility of Man towards the environment. This ecosystem that Man no longer controls, that he has never controlled. Even if, at one point, he was unfortunate enough to convince himself of this.
Philippe Blondel's contemporary and poetic look at this subject contrasts the hostile environment of a landfill with the new generation of Burkina Faso. This lost young generation, which the photographer identifies with, will have to overcome the differences that divide them to face the immense responsibility of finding a common alternative to preserve the planet for future generations.
To achieve this, Philippe called upon his friend and fellow photographer Jacques Sibiri Ouedraogo. A Burkinabe photographer, they met in 2021, during Philippe's first trip to Burkina. The original idea of the project was proposed by Jacques, wondering how to approach the theme of the environment in a different way. Philippe used the photographic work done by Jacques and himself in the field to construct original works.
The objective is not to make people feel guilty but rather to bring a new look on the issue. Questioning collective and individual actions in relation to waste management and the roles of governments, the two photographic artists want to go even further and hope to see young people realize by themselves the urgency to act.
"When I arrived in Ouagadougou for the first time, I was shocked to see so much waste on the street. Especially since the average age of the population is very young. It's time to act before it's too late," says Philippe. He shares his concerns with Jacques and decides to act using art. This reality is true for all of Africa, part of Asia and South America. It is even more true for all the young generations, no matter what they are. The environmental problem is not specific to Burkina Faso, it is generalized and concerns us all.
